Public Space Design: 2022

For this project, I was tasked to redesign a rundown terrace/riverfront in Florence, Italy. I had to space plan the layout of the whole strip along part of the river, and then 3D render the terrace portion of the project.

Concept Statement

The concept for this reconstruction of the Lungarno Benvenuto Cellini was to create an organic, interactive space that made the users feel comfortable and safe. This space  incorporates an abundance of vegetation to
create a calm, peaceful feel. It is very important to add an interactive element, such as a playground, for the children so they can run around and play with the parents can enjoy their alone time. As I was designing, we noticed that Christo’s umbrellas installation could fit nicely into my concept and would add a sense of unity to my space.
